In extremely difficult times for the Fashion sector and for the whole world, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have donated a ray of light and thoughtful cue thanks to the project "Il Rinascimento e la Rinascita", designed for Pitti Immagine in Florence.

Within three days, the two designers have unveiled the importance of the historical Italian heritage of luxury manufacturing and manual production. 38 artisans have contributed to the realization of the events signed by Dolce & Gabbana: Alta Moda, Alta Sartoria, Artigianalità e Fatto a Mano.

The aptitude for aesthetics and the perception of Beauty have always been characteristics of the Italian culture. For these gatherings, young and experienced artists have been involved in the creation of garments and accessories for the men's and women's fashion shows, a tribute to a historical era linked to a real reinterpretation of the concept of elegance and austerity.

For men’s fashion, named Alta Sartoria, the Palazzo della Signoria welcomed the important walkway, surrounded by the works of Giorgio Vasari. Fluid and elegant lines are combined with sumptuous and regal patterns, like those of frescoes and heralds typical of the Florentine territory. Precious fabrics and materials, such as velvet, leather and feathers, are blended with games of volumes and refined and embellished footwear, in the Dolce & Gabbana style. The garments are made to be worn by strong and determined men, but with a warm and Mediterranean soul. Also, vivid colors, gold details and gemstones emphasize the opulence of the creations, which vary from long dressing gowns to large t-shirts and tailored jackets. Finally, accessories and jewels representative of that era complete the look, thanks to the mastery of the most famous local botteghe.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana managed to narrate the first chapter of a story of change, both in the human soul, in the culture of a nation and in the development of a population, perhaps with the hope of being able to rediscover and pass on this same change to the future generations.
